About the Builder

John Hardy has been a builder for over 20 years. Starting as a concrete and framing labor as a teen and later running and owning a small commercial footing and foundation company. He later spent 2 years working in Concepcion, Chile bringing new construction techniques to the area while overseeing the construction of 80+ single family homes.

In 2000, John joined his father and brother in a new home building company in Utah that over the next 8 years built well over 100 homes in Salt Lake and Utah counties.

In 2010 John became the owner and operator of Cinnamon Ridge Home with a focus on new home construction and remodeling.

My husband and I purchased a home through Cinnamon Ridge Homes in approximately May 2008.

My first impression of Cinnamon Ridge homes was the model home. The design was distinctive and unique, the floor-plan was open and inviting. The home was beautifully furnished and painted. The salesman was very friendly, and professional in attitude and appearance.

He and his team were patient with us, as we inquired about and discussed our building and decorating options. I know this is cliché, but we felt like we were their only clients. This was our first “new home” purchase, so it was all a bit overwhelming. There were many samples to choose from, all of above-average quality. Cinnamon Ridge was generous with their upgrades and extras. Everything about the home-buying process was explained to us in a way that was easy to understand.

Cinnamon Ridge even referred us to a contractor for the deck we wanted to add to the back of the house. We ended up hiring the individual; he did a fine job, and the cost was very reasonable.

When we encountered lengthy and multiple problems with our financing, Cinnamon Ridge waited patiently as we resolved these issues.

Once we were moved into the house, my dad came to visit. My dad had been in the home building business from approximately 1990 – 2004. My dad is tough to impress and pays close attention to detail. After walking through my new home – pounding here and thumping there – basically inspecting every square inch of it, my dad announced that the construction was top notch, and that he was pleasantly surprised.

My wife and I built a Cinnamon Ridge home during the fall of 2002 in Eagle Mountain city. In our particular neighborhood there are homes from several different builders, and one thing we noticed right away was the curb appeal the Cinnamon Ridge homes had in comparison to the boxy and pedestrian homes around. Despite the price point the homes look inviting.

Next we noticed the way the interior or the homes not only seemed to maximize the available space but they still had natural flow. Our main floor only has about 1350 square feet, but it lives much bigger.

In the end, we had to live in it. In spite of the low price point the home was built with quality. 8 years later the walls are still straight, there are no cracks in the sheetrock, no leaks in the roof. The stairs still meet the porch. We still have the original carpet; the carpet cleaner was even impressed that our carpet could be 8 years old. The doors open and shut just as they did when we bought it; no big gaps or shims. The home has held up well to our 3 children.

I would not only recommend a Cinnamon Ridge Home, I would buy another. I suppose that is what counts the most.
